-MUSIC

                          Interests

                     and activities

Played the oboe from 1962 till 1972.  Member of the St. John’s Orchestra.  Played the guitar since 1968, performing publicly and professionally with the Festival Folk Ensemble, playing international folk music and Spanish Colonial music.  Performed for Santa Fe Fiesta crowds on the plaza for over 15 years, at the pre-Zozobra entertainment, and for special occasions such as St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, and for community-support and cultural events.  Play with a Blues/Rock band since 1981.

HOMESTEADING

Own and operate a 40 acre homestead along the Galisteo River, managing the ½ mile of  river and multi-species forest land, gardening (have had a vegetable garden every year of my life since a child), road building (operate and own crawler tractor, farm tractor and dump truck), livestock care (equine,poultry,etc) and tree planting.  

-PHOTOGRAPHY

Have been an active photographer since 1971. Photographed and documented post cultural revolution China, furniture, landscapes and portraits.  Won in 2003 Earth Works Institute Photo Contest and had a 40 piece show in Santa Fe resulting in numerous sales. 

-WRITING

Have been published in New Mexico Solar Energy Association publications, local newspaper articles and letters as well as poetry and  currently writing a thesis on the “cultural misinterpretation of the Darwinian theory of survival of the fittest, non-zero sum and cooperation, old paradigm and new paradigms...”

-COMPUTER SKILLS

Have operated computers for word processing, graphics, accounting, furniture and architectural design and web site work since 1981.  Semi- proficient on CAD, adobe photoshop, and numerous other  programs.  Designed and built adventuretrails@earthlink.org website  since 2000 and continue to refine and augment the site myself.

-PAINTING/SCULPTURE

Have studied  painting and drawing resulting in framed works that have been in shows.  Have studied and  shown sculpture of all sorts including wood, rustic, bronze and cast iron.

-MECHANICAL SKILLS

Have maintained vehicles and trucks of all sorts since 1969 including rebuilding motors, transmissions for heavy equipment, water-pumping windmills, and general maintenance of bulldozers, tractors, cars, trucks and stationary and hand Learned to operate a printing press and do all associated darkroom and layout work.

Position:  Sole Proprietor      

§     Owner and designer/builder of fine custom furniture and woodworking shop specializing in all aspects of woodworking, millwork, woodcarving.

§     Developed a line of furniture for the Santa Fe Pendleton Store

§     Developed a line of racks called “Trastitos”

§     Developed a plugging system called “Diamond Square”.

§     Have designed and built hundreds of furniture pieces including tables, chairs, beds, cabinets and doors.

§     Have built and/or consulted on numerous low cost and higher range houses and structures including architectural drawings, site planning and mechanical systems.

Grower, supervisor, salesperson for large-scale production and distribution of commercial fishing worms.  Contracted with major outlets such and Sears, Pennys, Woolworth, K-Mart and other outlets in state of Colorado.  Employed and managed 5 employees, more or less, for packaging and maintenance of facility.
